International Musicians Provide Local Performances

For Festival Mozaic

In 2012, the Hind Foundation granted $20,000 to Festival Mozaic to help fund the musicians’ artistic fees for the 2012 Summer Music Festival season which total $83,000. Festival Mozaic (formerly the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival) has served a local, regional and national audience of 7,000 -10,000 people annually for 41 years. The summer festival consists of 19 events during ten days in July. Programs are drawn from five centuries of the classical music tradition and are presented in diverse venues across San Luis Obispo County, including the San Luis Obispo Mission, Cuesta College, Chapel Hill in Shandon and many wineries and public spaces across the County. The Festival presents classical music alongside a range of evolving musical styles, including jazz and world music. The Festival's programs are designed and led by Music Director, Scott Yoo, a New York-based, virtuoso violinist and conductor. Festival Mozaic believes that music provides a means for expression, inspiration, cultural awareness, and fulfillment, and Festival Mozaic promotes the expansion and awareness of music in our communities by presenting music of unparalleled artistic quality.
