Native Pollinator Garden

For Living Coast Discovery Center

The Hind Foundation grant to the Living Coast Discovery Center was used to create a new and permanent exhibit - the Native Pollinator Garden. The garden features host plants and nesting sites, including an artistic nest box structure for bees, insects, and birds.  It also includes interpretive graphics that will educate visitors about the importance of pollinators and how they can benefit the local environment by building their own pollinator gardens at home. The garden also includes walking pathways, an overlook, and plenty of seating to allow visitors to reflect and observe the garden.
As a permanent installation, the garden is located in a 10,000sq.ft. space at the Living Coast’s front entrance and serves as an outdoor learning environment for thousands of guests that visit each year.
