Santa Barbara Museum of Art Seismic Retrofitting
For Santa Barbara Museum of Art
In 2015, the Hind Foundation granted $229,162 toward the Santa Barbara Museum of Art's Seismic Retrofitting initiative, completing the $2.29 million seismic retrofitting requirements. The project better protects the Museum's art, provides safety for its visitors and staff, and offers a better experience for community members. Safeguarding the Museum's infrastructure needs is one of the most important activities to ensure that its programs and activities are enjoyed without interruption for generations to come. This includes educating 28,000 students each year and welcoming more and more museum visitors to see the Museum's exhibits.
Fulfilling A Mission
The seismic retrofit project positions the Museum to meet its mission to integrate art into the lives of people.
Keeping A Community Space Alive
Since 1941, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art has provided opportunities for both the casually curious and deeply passionate to celebrate the expressive power of art.
