Festival Mozaic Free Family Concert

For Festival Mozaic

The Hind Foundation supported a new Family Concert, which will take place during the 2018 Summer Music Festival. The Family Concert will be presented during the popular Midday Mini-Concert series (a previous supplemental grant from the Hind Foundation helped launch this program in 2015), and will feature interactive performance and a participatory concert. Grammy-nominated, internationally-renowned Pianist John Novacek will be joined by Denver comedic actor Jon Wilkerson in a presentation of Francis Poulenc's musical arrangement of the story of Babar, the Little Elephant. Children will be invited to be seated and will be shown projected images from the book while the music and narration is performed. Then, because little bodies like to move, Novacek will invite the young people to join in a dance party to some of his original ragtime compositions. The concert will take place in the Pavilion downstairs at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo at 12:30 pm on Monday, July 23.
