Sundays Live Chamber Music

For Los Angeles County Museum of Art

In 2012, the Hind Foundation granted $2,500 to Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to support their Sundays Live concert series that brings first-class chamber music to Los Angeles free-of-charge. Forty-eight Sundays per year, Sundays Live presents one-hour, high-caliber programs of classical solo or chamber music at LACMA’s Leo S. Bing Theater. These weekly concerts serve approximately 24,000 viewers on site and 10,000 online every year, contributing to L.A.’s active classical music scene.

Noteworthy Outcomes

• Professional Career Opportunities
Through its Emerging Artists Concert Series, Sundays Live is committed to nurturing the next generation of performers by providing performance opportunities at a professional setting. With grants like these, LACMA is able to continue to pay musicians fairly and in accordance with professional levels.

• Affordable, Quality Chamber Music
Sundays Live concerts have helped strengthen support for classical music in Los Angeles and have expanded the audience by creating opportunities for new listeners to experience quality classical music without the barriers of high-priced tickets or parking fees.

• Loyal Followers & Increased Attendance
In the 2012 Sundays Live season, approximately 549 of 600 seats were filled at every concert, a 56 seat increase from 2011.
